My drawings have to be quick. If they don’t happen in 20 minutes or a half hour, then they’re no good.
I sympathise with Mr. Kelly, I find myself not wanting to spend much time on a drawing in fear of losing the purity of the moment.
I’ve long been a fan of Damien Correll’s work.
This Riso print can be had for a mere £3.50 from Museum Press.
Nathalie Du Pasquier’s work in Apartamento #8 piqued my interested and thus I came across her website and her book with Corraini (which I now own). Nathalie’s website is a bit wonky, but her collection of work more than makes up for it.
I was also reminded of another artist whose work I’ve written about in the past, Victor Pesce, who also worked with simple still life arrangements. See also: Le Corbusier.
I did a drawing for Birchwood Kitchen, celebrating their
eternal pickled carrots.
I hope I win!
