Artist Julian Charrier has created a machine that dyes the pigeons of Copenhagen exotic hues, the idea being to raise their status respectively in the bird kingdom. He’s also begun dying the birds of Venice’s St Mark’s square.

There is a certain degree of whimsy that is present throughout Jean Jullien’s body of work, and that is something I’ve always admired. This installation is no exception.
The Italian art movement, Memphis, has been described as a “shotgun wedding between Bauhaus and Fischer-Price”. I’m simultaneously drawn and repelled by the bold primary colors and odd combinations of basic shapes, and reminded a bit of Pee Wee’s playhouse.
